Another red from Cowra to challenge perceptions it is only suited to Chardonnay. Has supple and sweet leading edge to the plum fruit and vanilla oak. Good Length.

Windowrie have always made a lot of fuss about the Verdelho, some years I feel it's not warranted but this vintage I do, there is depth and interest to the wine and a balance throughout its journey. 91 points and worth $17

Family Reserve Shiraz
Rated 90/100 in James Halliday's 2009 Wine Companion. 'Another red from Cowra to challenge perceptions it is only suited to Chardonnay. Has supple and sweet leading edge to the plum fruit and vanilla oak. Good Length.

The 2007 Chardonnay is a fresh wine with aromas of tropical fruit, melon, almond and white nougat. There are plenty of similar flavours on the palate, making it a great food wine. It is full flavoured with lovely length. Price: $24.99 Cellar: 2009-2011.

2007 Mill Shiraz - 3 stars - Top of Category Central NSW and Canberra district tasting.

'Windowrie The Mill Limited Release Sangiovese 2006 $18.00 - This is a well priced, nicely textured Sangiovese with plenty of depth and varietal purity. There are whiffs of slightly sour cherries and it has the sort of drying tannins that really suit Italian meat dishes that feature tomato and oregano.'

'Mill Verdelho 2008 - A fairly restrained nose, the palate much more expressive with Ranges, good, clean citrus, ripe tropical fruits and barley sugar flavours NSW with the high alcohol providing a fullness and slippery, silkily textured mouthfeel.'

'Windowrie 'The Mill' Cowra Tempranillo 2007 - Hats off to the O'Dea family of Cowra in the Central ranges of New South Wales for putting this neat Tempranillo together. Drink Now. About $15 (and excellent value at that price). 92/100 - Excellent.'

'The Mill Limited Release Central Ranges Sangiovese 2006 - Good colour; major surprise; distinctive cherry, as much as sour cherry, fruit with the tannins no higher than is necessary to give structure. Delicious example at a bargain price. Cork. 14.5% alc. Rating 90 Drink 2012 $17.95 Date Tasted Mar 08.'

'Windowrie 'The Mill' Cowra Chardonnay 2007 - The 06 won a trophy at the Cowra Show and despite 2007 being a drought year this is every bit as succulent. Owner Jason O'Dea reckons this typifies all that is good about Cowra Chardonnay. 'Fresh, spritely and full of varietal flavours with a firm acid structure.'
Jeff Collerson, Daily Telegraph - Weekend/Wine 21 June 2008

'Windowrie 'The Mill Cowra Shiraz 2006 - Well made easy drinking shiraz that represents good value. The notes say it has a component of shiraz from Orange and interestingly, there is a 4 percent addition of Cabernet Franc. Not that I would have picked it, but it does add an extra dimension to the wine. Worth exploring further I think.'
Tony Keys, The Key Review of Wines (The KROW) Issue,12 April 2008

'Although Chardonnay is easily Cowra's front running white, Verdelho also does extremely well there, as this wine's full, fresh and inviting flavours resoundingly show.'
On the Grapevine Sunday Telegraph Insider 2008

'This is a terrific quaffing wine at a very reasonable price. It is unoaked with lashings of tropical fruit flavours and some nice acid on the finish. It is made by a very good Cowra winery that uses grapes from across central western NSW. It's hard to find a wine that complements the fiery flavours of Indian and Thai food, but this certainly does the trick. $15.'
Winsor Dobbin Sun Herald May 2008

'This is Windowrie's 12th consecutive Chardonnay vintage, from a region which has really taken off in recent years. It's nicely constructed with upfront melon and stonefruit on the nose and palate, lively acidity and a crisp, clean finish. Drink it with pan fried veal.'
Kerry Skinner Grape Expectations Illiwarra Mercury April 2008

'The Mill Central Ranges Chardonnay 2007 - neat, typically varietal stone fruit, ripe peaches, rich and creamy, robust and with smooth honey dew melon characters as well. The oak is melded well with judicious vanillin oak. A nice classic edge of lively acidity with a creamy smooth luscious easy drinkingness to the end. Try it with salmon fillets. Drink Now. About $15. 91/100 - Excellent.'
